What should users look for in a wrist strap and how can they tell if a wrist strap product is a “good” one? First, look for an acknowledged brand name from a supplier that will certify that their product meets all the required specifications. Obtain and review the ESD Association’s Wrist Strap Standard Test Method S1.1. Require that their supplier supply test data on their product. Establish a test station so users can “check” their wrist strap’s functionality every day (at least), or install continuous monitors at every workstation. |
